Der Urbane Waldgarten ist streng durchdesignt - seine Erdschichten und die Beschaffenheit der Böden sind wissenschaftlich erforscht, neue Oberflächen wurden kreiert, Mutterboden angeliefert, alle Wege geplant.
Die Arbeit From landscapes to territory ist ein archäologisches Experiment, bei dem
verborgenes Material, das beim Umgestalten dieses Areals aus dem Erdreich geborgen
wurde, eine zentrale Rolle spielt. Silvia Noronha thematisiert die Kraft und Vitalität
der hier gefundenen Metalle als eine Art Archiv der Zeit und ein bedeutendes Element
in der Geschichte des lokalen Untergrundes. Durch ihre skulpturale Konstruktion einer
unterirdischen Landschaft, die in eine sichtbare Ebene transformiert wurde, versucht
sie, die Geschichte dieses Territoriums zu hinterfragen und zu verstehen. Sie erkundet
die Vergangenheit und die Gegenwart anhand dieser materiellen Überreste. Was
berichtet die Vergangenheit dieses Ortes der neuen Urbanen Waldgärten und was
können wir aus den hinterlassenen Spuren lesen?
Silvia Noronha arbeitet ortsspezifisch mit dem Unerwünschten und presst dieses
kraftvoll in eine Spur des vermeintlich Vergangenen.

The Urban Forest Garden has been strictly designed - its soil layers and the composition
of the ground have been scientifically researched, new surfaces have been created,
topsoil has been delivered, all paths planned.
The work From landscapes to territory is an archaeological experiment in which hidden
material that was recovered from the soil during the redesign of this area plays a
central role. Silvia Noronha addresses the power and vitality of the metals found here
as a kind of archive of time and a significant element in the history of the local ground.
Through her sculptural construction of an underground landscape transformed into a
visible plane, she seeks to question and understand the history of this territory. She
explores the past and the present through these remaining material. What does the
past of this site of the new Urban Forest Gardens tell us and what can we read from
the traces left behind?
Silvia Noronha works site-specifically with the unwanted and presses this powerfully
into a trace of the supposed past.
