Was können wir vom Verhalten der Pilze lernen, um eine gerechtere und nachhaltigere
Zukunft zu erreichen? Ein abstrakt wirkendes Muster von Myzelwachstum in kräftigen
Farben, die sich aus den im Garten wachsenden Blumen und Pflanzen ableitet,
bestimmt die grafische Gestaltung der textilen Installation von Barbara Gamper. Die
darunter liegende aktuelle Bepflanzung, in diesem Fall Gründüngung, schafft einen
weichen Puffer zwischen Tuch und Erdboden.
Die Künstlerin lädt ein, sich hinzulegen, eine Pause zu machen, in den Himmel zu
blicken und dabei dem somatischen Hörspiel zu lauschen. Die Geschichte des Myzels
wird erzählt - und die Verbundenheit der Menschen mit diesem tiefgründig erkundet.
Lausche den faszinierenden Aspekten der uneigennützigen Zusammenarbeit und
lerne die dezentralisierte Verhaltensweise von Pilzen kennen. Du bist eingeladen, in
die Vorstellung und Aktivierung deines eigenen Nervensystems einzutauchen, und die
Analogien zwischen deinen Nervenbahnen und den Hyphenfäden des Myzels vor Ort
zu spüren.

Mycelial networks (what can humans learn from fungal behaviour?), 2023

What can we learn from the behaviour of fungi to achieve a more just and sustainable
future? An abstract-looking pattern of mycelial growth in bold colours, derived
from the flowers and plants growing in the garden, determines the graphic layout of
Barbara Gamper’s textile installation. The current planting underneath, in this case
green manure, creates a soft buffer between the cloth and the ground.
The artist invites us to lie down, take a break, look up at the sky and listen to the
somatic radio play. The story of the mycelium is told - and the human connection to it is
profoundly explored.
Listen to the fascinating aspects of altruistic cooperation and learn about the decentralised behaviour of fungi. You are invited to immerse yourself in the imagination andactivation of your own nervous system, and to feel the analogies between your neural pathways and the hyphal threads of the mycelium on the ground.
